Non- Government Organisations (NGOs)
Non-Government Organisations help the community to organise and create events, entertainment and education for other cultures. These would include festivals, exchange students, charities and film productions. Australian NGOs for cultural links strengthen the cultural ties of Australia and Japan and USA.
An NGO linking Japan and Australia's culture is the Japan Foundation, which is the first organisation that specialises in international cultural exchange in Japan. They have Japanese Film Festivals, showning Japanese cultures on screen in Australia and other countries, the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test for Japanese language learners and also the Japanese Language Speech Contest which gives Australians the opportunity to show what they've learnt in Japanese.

They raise awareness about Japan's culture to Australia so people would be able to participate in it and help maintain the good connection we have with Japan. They also encourage Japan travel throught the exceptional portrayal of Japan.
